Updated anti-spam testing
4th March 2008

We've made a couple of changes behind the scenes over the past 24 hours. This is aimed at increasing the success rate of our bayasian filtering.

Rather than testing each incoming message against a single SPAM filter we're experimenting with using two, or more, complementing filters.

Provided you have the antispam plugin enabled for your domain we'll definitely be testing message once. If the system load is low, and there are resources to spare your messages will be tested against an additional filter too.

This should mean that the testing becomes more accurate in less time.

The only change that you need to be aware of is that the headers which are added to your mails relating to spam testing have changed.

The new headers are:

X-MS.com-spam: yes The message was spam.
X-MS.com-spam: no The message was not spam.
X-MS.com-spam: unsure The message type couldn't be determined - training required.

This replaces the previous header, which was specific to the filter we were using.
